Numbers you can defend.

Robin Knows reports what AI engines say about your brand and your competitors. Each metric below says what it measures and how to read it, in plain terms. Panels show sample data, labeled as sample.

Mention rate

What it measures

The share of answers in which your brand is named at all. If we ask 150 times and you appear in 63 answers, your mention rate is 42%.

How to read it

The headline. It moves slowly and honestly. A rise means more engines, across more questions, now know you.

Share of voice

What it measures

Of every brand name the engines gave across all answers, the percentage that was yours, set against the competitors on your watchlist.

How to read it

Mention rate says whether you show up. Share of voice says how crowded the answer is, and who is taking the space.

Citation rate

What it measures

How often an answer links to your own pages as a source, and which pages. Being named and being cited are different wins.

How to read it

A mention without a citation sends no one to your site. This shows which of your pages the engines trust, and which competitor pages they prefer.

Position and sentiment

What it measures

Where your brand falls when the engine lists several, and whether the answer describes you favorably, neutrally or critically.

How to read it

Third of three is still a mention, but it reads differently from first. Sentiment is parsed from the answer, and the original text is always one click away.

Gap report

What it measures

The questions you do not appear in, and which competitors the engines name there instead.

How to read it

This is the list you act on. Each gap is a topic where a better page, a clearer comparison or a new source could change the answer.

Traffic from AI assistants

Google Analytics has no AI channel of its own, so these visits are filed under Referral, Direct or Unassigned. We pull out the ones from known assistants and show them as their own channel, so the slices still add up. It is a floor, not a total: some assistants send visitors without saying where they came from.

Search Console, alongside

Classic search performance sits next to the AI numbers as corroboration. It is context for the story, not the product.
